Drew Kerr was raised in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in a household deeply connected to the collegiate and professional soccer landscape. As the son of two longtime college coaches and the younger brother of two accomplished players, Drew was immersed in the game from an early age.

He began his youth career at Triangle United before joining the North Carolina FC Academy at the age of 12. Progressing through the ranks, Drew signed an academy contract with NCFC’s USL League One first team at just 16 years old. He made his professional debut on October 1, 2021, in a match against Toronto FC II.

After a standout youth career, Drew joined Duke University in 2022 to play under the guidance of his father and alongside his brother. Over his first three collegiate seasons, he made 47 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 16 assists, while showcasing his playmaking ability and technical quality in midfield. After the 2024 campaign, Drew earned Academic All-American honors, highlighting a fantastic season. During this time, he also gained additional experience competing for Tobacco Road FC and NCFC U-23 in USL League Two.

In 2025, Drew was selected 81st overall by the Columbus Crew in the MLS SuperDraft. He will return to Duke for his senior season before beginning his professional career with the Crew.
